1-2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 onion diced
2 cloves garlic sliced
2 tomatoes chopped large
2 carrots diced (optional)
2-4 links Italian sausage cut carefully into pieces
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup NAKED infusions Fire Roasted Garlic or Signature Ripe Tomato Salsa
1 tbsp Rockin' Rubs Tuscan Temptations
1 cup white wine
1/2 tsp Sabrosa Salt Company Italian Season Salt
1 lb fettuccine
1/2 tsp flour
1/2 head broccoli cut into bite sized pieces (can use frozen broccoli as well)
In a large, deep, coverable frying pan, sauté the onion and garlic in about 2 tbsp olive oil over medium high heat for about 1 minute.
Add the tomatoes and sauté an additional 2 minutes.
Add the carrots and the sausage and sauté an additional 2 minutes until sausage is browned.
Add the tomato sauce, salsa, Tuscan Temptations spice blend, white wine and salt and stir. Bring to a simmer, cover, lower heat and let simmer, covered for about 40 minutes
25 minutes into simmering the sauce, begin to prepare the fettuccine, but prepare it only 75% of the way. (only cook for about 7.5 minutes) as it will cook the rest of the way in the sauce.
When pasta is ready, add the pasta, flour and broccoli to the sauce, stir and let simmer uncovered an additional 5-7 minutes.
Top with Parmesan cheese and serve.
